Update.....

So Im tracking the vehicle, online it says that it is at the prep center, when I call and talk to a real live person the say "that I need to contact my CA to get a further status" and when I used the automated system it says that " it is released to carrier and awaiting transport to port of exit"

Does anyone know what all this means???

Thanks

It means the BMW system available to customers is often out of date. I took delivery of my X5 last November and the system still says it is "at the preparation center."

Your CA links into a different system, or at least a different part of the system, and has the most accurate data.

I think CA is tired of me calling everyday for an update, if it is awaiting transport to port of exit, when can I expect it to arrive at my dealership in
Colorado ?

Pretty sure it will next go to the VPC in Spartanburg... hang around for a few days waiting for a truck to drive it to colorado.

Figure 10 days? Just guessing.
I

If you do a search you will discover the BMW website is for cars being built in germany, railed to a port, shipped to a VPC in the USA and trucked to the dealer.

They use the same terms to describe the process from the plant in spartanburg, and it is very confusing (why should there be a port of exit?!?!)

So today's update called BMW, used automated service to check status and it told me that "it's released to carrier and awaiting transportation to port of exit" the same message that I have been getting all week. So I decided to talk to a rep and they told me that it was released to carrier in tueday, so I wonder if it's been shipped on Tuesday when my dealership here in Colorado will get it???

I'm not sure they actually keep track of the car after it's been delivered to the dealer, so I think that's the last info the system will have. Mine still says it's at the dealer despite the fact that I picked it up back in November!
