LOL, goodluck DWill, I've driven the X5M, and you have an amazing car. Unfortunately my wife who will be driving our X5 50i 80-90% of the time couldn't be sold on the X5M.

So I've negotiated getting the new M5 when it comes out next year for my car. Can't wait.

Well, the M5 isn't such a bad car either...

Just don't upgrade the Nav software... all should be well... LOL

UPDATE... GOOD NEWS...

Got my X back last night and everything works.
They still don't know what they (the dealer) did but BMW got it, fixed for them whatever it was.

The dealer didn't charge me for the Navi update; which is a good thing since the bill was $406.09 just for that.

And the "user info" under the BMW Search options menue still dosen't work and no one know what it's supposed to do...

I'll put up another thread later and see if anyone here know if it works and if so what it does...

In the mean time I going for a drive....

Glad you got it back. For what it's worth I found that the fastest way to get your vehicle fixed is to tell them to keep it for a while.

Story: My fuel pump blew 2 months after purchase and they had it in the shop for over a week. The loaner they gave me was a sweet little Black 335i that I drove like a rental. That engine will haul... Anyway, SA called after the first week to apologize saying that they didnt know how long it would be until the part came in. Could be another week or two. I said, "Don't worry about. I'm having a great time driving the loaner. Take as long as you need." Two days later the X is fixed. Good thing for them too. The 3er would have needed a new set of tires if they had given me another two weeks with it.

That's what I think too. But connected drive does not work in the US, correct?
I know Google maps works and I can get messages from there and from BMW assist. But I can't use the connected drive site trip planner etc as far as I know.

Or am I wrong?

Too funny…. That's pretty much the experience I had with the Z4 they gave to drive. One of the fastest drives I've ever made between Mammoth and San Diego.

I had a 2008 X5 that was lemoned last year. It was a fine vehicle till I took it to the dealer for it's first year service. After that, it kept turning off while I drove it. Long story short, BMW gave me my money back and I ordered a 2010 X5 35D without issue. If it sit's longer than 30+ days at the dealer, use the lemon law, it protects you.

Theybfixed it. Plus I got some "new" features with the re-flash.
Like I can now sort contact names by first name, being able to sort them by last name only drove me grazy before. So that's cool.

I also noticed on the Nav search page there is now a item that says "online search". But it grated out and doesn't do anything. I was hoping it was a shortcut to BMW search and Google maps, which I use all the time. But nope it just doesn't do anything.

The only downside is that my fuel mileage seems to have taken a big drop.
