Winter Wheel/Tire Help - Smallest Wheel?

I'm currently looking for a set of used wheels to put some winter tires on for my X5. I found quite a few sets of 17" wheels off the E53 X5 for a reasonable price. Does anyone know if these 17" wheels will fit or do I need to go to 18" wheels with winter tires to clear the brakes? This is for a 2011 35d that currently has the 20" 214's on it and sport package. Thanks!

E53 wheels will not fit on E70 as is. They have different bore sizes.
E53 72.5mm
E70 74mm

You need minimum 18" wheel size.

Thanks for the information. I'll be on the lookout for some 18" E70 wheels.
