2011 X5 35d fender flares?

Hey all, first post here. Been reading a bunch so thanks for all the info and ideas.

Have a 2011 X5 35d that should be arriving any day. I just inquired about fender flares and have been told that there aren't any and if I want the flares I need the full M body kit replacing the front and rear bumpers. I am sure I saw pics on here or xbimmer of the 35d with flares but can't seem to find them. Can anyone verify the dealer's info for me? They want $13,000cdn to do all the work...seriously

Thanks in advance

are we talking about painted fender flares and a happy ending for that price? Black plastic should run $250-ish USD. Lots of threads on how to install them, 2011 model shouldn't be any different as far as that goes.

Welcome, Fender flares are a relatively easy install that should only cost a couple hundred as mentioned above. If you want to paint them it will cost a bit more but there is no need for a full body kit. See darippers mods to his 35d in the link http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...d-weekend.html

He says they would have to install the M sport package flares which would involve changing everything to the M sport including bumper and side steps. Yes, that would be painted too and installed minus the cigarette at the end.

I just want the black plastic ones.

I saw those but he has a 2010 so I wasn't sure if there would be a difference with the 2011.

They also told me there is no aerokit available. I'm in Canada but am pretty sure I've seen aerokits for the 35d. I think these guys are trying to play me.

I cant see there being any difference. Maybe someone else can verify? You certainly will not need an m sport pack for black flairs. What an asshole trying to make 10 grand off you lol

The aero kit for the 2011 may not be available just yet. Lemans (another member) posted some pics of what the 2011 aero kit will look like. If you search you might find them. They seem to be trying to make some easy money off of you though. Good luck and enjoy your x5

I'm curious to see a '11 aero kit with the side done as well.

The black plastic fender flares on a 2011 are the same as 2010.

This thread discusses the parts...part #51770421056. $304 at getbmwparts.com. Price has gone up a lot since I got mine in late 2008 for around $120. BMW apparently started jacking up the prices on these when they noticed all the demand.

And this thread shows the plastic rivet gun you will need (the one with the green handle that I posted, if you don't want to remove the wheels for the flare install).

Good luck.
