I sold my E53 (see avatar) and will be putting the wheels on the 2011 I have on order.

I love the wheels, and they're at the repair shop now. The question is, should I paint them to match the platinum gray X5? Or just paint the metallic silver, similar to stock.

Photoshopped images below, and poll started! Your input is, as always, very much appreciated and will help my decision!
Wait a minute...Are you going to put these wheels on the E53 to E70?
Did you used any hub centric rings for the wheels when it was on you E53?
If not then these wheels will not work/fit for your new E70.

Tom, I was hoping you'd chyme in. What is the hub diameter on the E70?

I was worried about this.

I didn't use hub centric on the E53, but I suspected there was some space. I gotta look deeper into it.

The wheels aren't specifically made for E53, so I am hoping to get lucky. I might drive my fathers E70 to the rim shop and have the shop put the wheel on to make sure it will fit.

The E53 is 72.5mm and the E70 is 74.1mm
You didn't used the centric rings on the E53, then i'm 100% sure those wheels will not fit on your new E70.

In that case, I'll have some really cool refinished wheels to sell, with brand new paint and very new Toyo Proxes ST2's.

I'll check the fit, then get back on tomorrow.

You're right, the center bore on the wheels is 72.5mm, but, the rim shop can open it up in order to fit the E70 at 74.1mm.

Here's what I decided to do. 2-tone.. I think its the best of both worlds.

What do you think?

I like the two tone. Unique but not as boring as the complete color match. Looks sort of tuner/magazine/asanti advertisement but that is not such a bad thing. I say go for it.

@ the car w/ matte black.

It's going to be the 2-tone though! I'll take some pictures once everything is installed.

The car should be in later this week or next, and wheels should be done about the same time. I'm also going to throw on some fender flares, since they're pretty inexpensive, but add such an aggressive look, I'll also be smoking out the amber reflector on the front fender and tinting the windows. All stuff I can put back to stock once the lease is up 36 months later.

Words cannot describe how excited I am
