I had an end of August production vehicle with Side View Cameras. Yesterday, I asked my CA to cancel the order and change it to September production to take advantage of the updated software (bluetooth, ipod, etc.) No word on the headlights....

But do you have any info on the LED headlights coming to this round of changes, like you thought they might a month ago?

Is the iPod update the famed "iPod Out" functionality or just the ability to see album art? There seems to be some confusion around this - I'm certainly confused

So even though I purchased a 2011, they will add new functionality to the 2011 after I bought it. Geez, thanks BMW.

Oops did not see that....merged the threads now. I have heard rumors of new LED headlights coming starting September....nothing confirmed.

The only thing that would really annoy me is if they change the diesel to the 40d or brought in the 8 speed. Since neither of those are happening, I will survive with my 2011.0 (vs. 2011.5).

40d is not happening. Per one source, the engine needs approval in all 50 states and is a big expense. BMW is not ready to spend that money at this time for two reasons; First, the diesel sales in US are still not that great, second, the tr-turbo 45d engine is round the corner, to be introduced in 6er.

Well I hope they don't now - my car is currently in production and I don't think I want to wait till Sept (would give up Ultimate Drive credit of $1k). Still think BMW should be ashamed that they didn't put this upgrade on the LCI to begin with.

What's the latest rumor on the next-gen of the X5? I had heard something about MY 2013, but wouldn't that make for an awfully short LCI run? Seems like MY 2014, with an introduction in 2013 would make the most sense... I'm assuming there's nothing definite, just rumors at this point.

If you look at the cycle on the X5 it's been 7 years--e53 came out Fall '99 and e70 in Fall '06. So, using that logic Fall '03 would be next--but nobody knows for sure.
