So... where are you guys buying a rear seat cover for an X5? Does BMW make a factory one, or just search around for something aftermarket?

I've seen a bunch of pet covers... maybe just go with something like that?

I'm going to be ordering my X tomorrow. Here's my dilemma.

I want the full nappa package (seats & dash) and would like the contour seats as well. (who wouldn't?)

Nappa:
There are two variables - 1. I'm trying to keep the cost down 2. I have 2 kids, a 15 month old and a 1 year old. I'm thinking the nappa will be wasted back there with the car seats installed 100% of the time - but not on my wife and I up front. The nappa dash is $1900 as a stand alone but then $2400 for the seats and dash. I see the value here..

Contour:
Buy the way BMW bundles everything when building, it looks like the contour seats are only an additional $900 when included in on the sport activity (I will be getting that). Compared to $1300 as a stand alone. I can't see myself going for both the nappa and contour - these things add up quick!

Question - I had nappa in my 06 4.8is but didn't have kids. Would YOU get the nappa knowing that it's going to get destroyed by the kids? The Nevada is more durable, I know, but I love the way the nappa feels.

Should I just pull the trigger for the dash? But for only $500 more I get the seats - I hate compromising! - I'm losing my mind over this crap!

Then there is the contour seats.. I never had them.. Are they really worth it? I do a fair amount of driving..

This is the way it's looking so far:

X5 50i
Tit. Slvr or Space gr - loosing my mind over this too!
Black ________ leather
Bamboo
Prem
Prem sound
Rear climate
Sport Activity
20" 336
Tech
Comfort access
I am single with a dog so I don't have any skins in the game on kids crumbs and milk. But on the color I would go with the Space Gray or Silver if between those 2. My $.02. When will it be delivered ? I want to see more real life pics of the 336 wheels once you have it all cleaned up. Oh, and you are getting Premium sound--is there much of a difference of the stock 50i system ?

I'm taking delivery the end of August when many pics will follow..
And yes, there is a big difference between the standard and premium sound system.

Does it cover the entire rear seat bench, or did you buy 2 individual covers and put them under the seats?

I picked up two. This is the exact one I got:
Kiddopotamus: Products: Elite DuoMat
I usually keep the center armrest down. This accomplished two things.

1. Provides extra bottle/sippy cup holders for the kids
2. Increases rear view visibility.

I have two kids 4/2 and what I have done to combat the destruction of the leather is made seat covers.

I have Black interior so I have, black beach towels under the seats and have cut it large enough to so I can tuck it under the back rest and the front of the seat. I also have a the weather tech floor mats which are are in the car all year round. they are better that the BMW ones because they cover the trans tunnel. The only thing I have to clean is the arm rest once a week and sometimes wipe the doors down. Both my back seats have no evidence of child seats. Oh I fogot. I also have a black towel (Hand towel) which I place behind the car seats so there is not direct car seat to leather contact and you cannot even see them.
