Epacy is an unknown quantity at this point
Gas mileage will increase as the engine is broken in.
I think I have noticed that the diesel I get from Mobil gives me better mileage than what i get from Shell

I sure hope it does. I don't plan on driving as "gently" as I currently am for much longer.

Here is an example of fuel economy with diesel.

Total range on this tank is 526.1 miles at the moment, current trip's MPG is 23.2. Driving since last fill up - 30% local roads (NJ suburbs with hills), 70% highway. Mind that the engine did not even have a chance to break-in (466 mi on the car).

And the best of it I found a gas station along my commute (well it might add a mile to a 52-mile commute), where diesel is cheaper than premium and same price for credit cards - $2.75 per gallon ! (those who want to know, it is Shell station next to Pep Boys on Rt 22 west in Union NJ)

P.S. Back in Dec 2007 when I got my 2008 X5 4.8, the average MPG during first 1000 miles was around 12-13 MPG...

Yeap. I have sport package and the adaptive drive. I believe it is the adaptive drive ($3,500 option) which brings the sport button and sport sign on the panel.

I always had it ON on 2008 X5, and will continue to always have it ON on the 2011... After all I've paid $3,500 for it !
