Sorry, I can't tell from the pic - is that a 35i or a 35d?

I'll have to cool it down for the next 850 miles. I think I'll try some of the other techniques you mentioned. I'm excited to have the responsibility of "breaking in" such an amazing ride. This is my personal first "new" car.

Another question, it came from the factory showing that it went 7 miles. My father's 4.8 had the same amount. Is that from some sort of testing period?

BTW it's a 35i. Platinum silver on Oyster. A great combo, but I might regret the light seats down the road, as I have a german shepherd who loves to come for car rides.

7 miles is about normal. All cars go through the roll booth, then are driven off the end of the assembly line, then onto a test track at the plant to double check all functions. They then go to a staging area before being driven onto trucks or trains. I've seen 4 miles on a 3 series delivered from South Africa, and 17 miles on a car from Germany. A few cars go through a special quality audit so they will have more. I hope this is a normal procedure for all manufacturers! Then there is the dealer, who could put a few miles on it...

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Most cars that come off the transport truck have about 2 or 3 miles, then the tech that deleted transport mode and activates all the systems etc. puts a couple miles on it, then the new car department has to drive it to the gas station, then to have it detailed before customer delivery. So depending on dealer and how far they are from such things it is normal to have up to 10-20 miles on them.

Got it. I've been away the past 2 days, traveling in Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado to visit customers. I've driving around in a Jeep Commander, you really get to appreciate the X5, even the E53 after driving a brand new Commander. I'm really looking forward to getting back to the new E70. The windows should be all dry by now too. I'm really fired up.
