Battery Tender Plus...I see them for ~ < $50 bucks, all over the net.
Be sure to get the alligator clip part.

One raved about recently, here on the Board, though I have
no experience using this model:
MULTI US 3300 - CTEK SWEDEN AB

Happy shopping...

Thanks mD. How about the OEM BMW one?

Only based on reading here, and seeing one in a BMW parts counter,
is that I would bet it is made by Deltran, (BattTender mfg'er), has a
BMW roundel logo on it, and the one I saw came only with a plug
for the cig lighter. And, it was ~$80, .

If it has alligator clips, and you like supporting your local BMW parts
counter, it's in the same ballpark, imo.

BMW Battery Conditioner Part No. 614 321 549 49
BMW Adapter Cable Part No. 716 076 902 35

Sorry no picture. You can take a look at your local dealer and see if you like it. Goodluck

Agree that BMW's does look like some tenders Deltran has on their website, minus the BattTender logo, plus a BMW one... I do NOT care for my local BMW parts counter. If the BMW tender has no technical advantage over the BattTender, I don't see why one should pay about $30 more for it.

Thanks for the advice.

it's not always possible to have a battery tender on, especially if you park at an airport parking lot. Also, I'm not sure I would have the hood up with the engine and parts accessible at an airport lot in ny.

I would recommend having a booster/jump cable accessible outside of the trunk (front seat) so that you can get to it in case the battery is dead. I've left my car for 4 weeks in a garage with no problem.
