I have adaptive drive in my 07 and i love it. I just ordered a 50 last week and the dealer was questioning me why spend the $3500 if I don't tow or carry 4 football players all the time. Needless to say he had me questioning if I should get it. They had a adaptive drive and a std sport without the adaptive drive and drove them back to back. I drove the same route and tied to keep the same speed. There is a huge difference between the two. The adaptive drive allowed me to hit the off ramp about 15mph faster and the car felt much more planted compared to the non-adaptive drive car. Needless to say I paid the $3500 more.

So adaptive drive MUST allow some roll as a physical cue to the driver... this is how it is programmed.A

BMW found something similar when they replaced the Telescopic fork suspension on motorcycles with their Telelever system. They could design-out all of the front dive of a motorcycle when braking; however, they found when they did that it unnerved the riders, as they depended on the "dive" to provide braking intensity feedback. So they dialed a bit of front-end dive back into the system before going commercial.

Hitting the off ramp at ridiculous speeds in a 6,000 lb SUV is key .

fixed that for ya.

I had my dad in his minivan following me on an on-ramp the other day... I don't have a ton of power but the agility on this thing... it was bye-bye minivan going around that 270-degree turn.

Gotta remember to watch it in the rain though.
