Have one in the family and will not buy again. Trying to get rid of it. Spends too much time with dealer. Like she is having an affair on the side.

That's an excuse for people who can't afford it. Not a single issue from ownership to the sale, which was rather quick. Posted it on Ebay and she was gone. Wish I could had the same experience with a 03 X5 I had. Anyways, no point to Argue RR>X5

RRS isn't even a proper Range Rover. It's just a shortened Discovery 3 with a different body.

Look lets say, for the sake of argument, that a RR is a superior car. OK?

Please tell me what a "jealous look" on someone's face would look like?

My point is that I have a serious problem with 'adults' that need to somehow make themselves feel good about themselves by the cars they acquire- even worse when their pleasure is derived from what they think OTHER guys think about their car.

Pretty damn sad actually.

And you'll note that my point actually has nothing to do with which car is 'better'.

I think a few words here speaks volumes about age/maturity level. For your sake, I hope the age thing is at least true, then you'd at least have an excuse.

I think the RRS is a good looking SUV (with every other RR looking puke-tastic), but I certainly do NOT want one based on that alone. It certainly doesn't sell on its other points.

people like you who cannot afford Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens settle for lowly 911 S's. have fun..

Don't you think that's even a little subjective?

I drive a friend's '06 RRS Supercharged every once in a while, and I always expect it to be quick given it's dashing looks and "Supercharged" badge. However my 8 year old X5 V8 (not even a sport model mind you) is quicker to 60MpH. Noticeably quicker. And the X5 handles much better. Just my $0.02.

4 months of reliability? nice... my guess is the car had too many problems...

I have a carrera S. this car is not without problems as well. but even so, is 1000% more reliable than a RRS. not sure why it is a step up to that pos...

x5 fwiw, is the best combination of all worlds out there. cayenne s... well, i dont know the new one, but the old one is riddled with issues - ignition coils, coolant tube problems... more expensive than an x5 but not a "step up" or a "step down"

i driven countless high end suvs from all manufacturers... id say while the RRS is at the top of its class in looks, it lacks everything else. the lexus seemed to be the most reliable, but lacks all spirit and sport... perfectly in the middle is the x5. reasonable cost, decent reliability and excellent performance...

all this comes from a porsche enthusiast... so yes i'm biased... but in a different way.

Interesting read. Lets face it X5, RR, RRS, Disco, ML, Cayenne they will all have their reliability problems, so far with my frinds the X5s are fairing the worst.....
Many have had them and since moved to RR or Cayenne. Some are multiple RR owners who have had very few problems, same with Cayenne that apart from coil packs and coolant tubes the rest of the package is lasting well. Not to mention far better quality interiors.
At the end of the day you drive what you like and live with the issues or move on untill you find a car you like so much you forgive its problems. or drive a Lexus....
