disable seat-belt beep

Who knows of a way how to disable the annoying seat-belt beep?
In most cars it would stop after 15-30 sec, but BMW lets it go forever.
Sometimes I have my groceries or brief case in the passengers seat, it goes off with a weight of 5lbs.

Buy a seat belt clip and clip it in. No way to disable it, but there are ways to trick it.

Nahh, I'd like a better solution than that, thx for recommendation though.

"Nahh"??

What would a 'better solution' be in your mind?

You must understand that manufacturers go to great lengths to make this tamper proof to avoid morons turning off the alarm and then a loved one accidentally getting in the seat with the disabled warning....

My Porsche, my Ford and my Acura all alarm forever. (Not sure about the M5, I think it is a visual alarm forever, never found out if the audible turns off.)

I put stuff on the floor since it is less likely to tumble with sharp stops. Or I position the belt to HOLD the item in the seat- in which case the connected clip solves the problem

Drive a little farther/longer and it will shut up.

Absolutely NO way to disable. It's been researched by many. You can not find someone to reprogram even if it was possible, which I don't think anyone has confirmed. No dealer, certified shop would risk the liability and I'm not sure anyone else would know how. Buy a belt clip or enjoy the beeping

It does go away after a few minutes, not seconds.
