Cool E53 to E70 4.8

Hey all... I'm preparing to purchase E70 4.8 (07-08) any thing major I should be looking out for.... Currently I have E53 4.8is with alot of goodies. I've also wondered for the E70, What happened to the missing 5hp and 20in wheels

E70 4.8i was de-tuned and is a bit heavier...take a test drive and you'll notice a difference in acceleration in comparison to your 4.8iS. 20" wheels are an option but were stock with the E53 iS models.

Happy hunting...

Now that wouldn't be such a bad idea. A 4.8iS with the ///M guts...that would def' be my ideal hulliganmobile

Dinan's upgrade, although minor, is decent for the 4.8iS. I suggest the new 50i if you can swing it. Test drive the engine, you'll be impressed. While you're at it try the X6 on a test drive...first time i did, it really impressed me. Although, not a good idea if you require the space of the X5.

I went from a E53 and will say this. The E70 does have 20" wheels so that will not be the issue. As for the performance, you may be a bit disappointed. The ride and handling is spot on and I would say better.

The speed my be a disapointment. There is no tuning other than exhaust and that will be only so much. Ni personally feel the car runs out of power at the top of the RPM range and though it has a 6 speed, the trans gear selection when you hammer it will down shift to low and there is little power tillmthe trans catches up. Compared to a E53 is you may not feel the same raw power sensation

I do feel the E70 is much more refined and a nicer car. I just ordered the 50 and I personally feel that the 400hp and new trans makes this car excellent

50i??? I thought I knew everything... X6 sounds good too I don't need room... I need to be able to tow.... I'm finding the tow possibilities on the site now, lookn good so far.... but the budget may not allow it.

Man, My search is gonna take longer than I thought!!!

Test Drive

5.0!!!! I'm Aroused..... Actually I found an 09 X6 5.0... Back to the drawing board for me..... maybe sell my E36 M3 Sedan and Keep the X5 for towing and use the X6 for my "car"..... Although I've been looking at C63!!!

I'm gonna go over my ideas.... Performance stuff.... think its the closest I can get to an "M" for now.... Its all getting blurry again.... Why do I have to be such a JUNKY!!!!!

I still like the wheels on my 4.8 better.....anyone know if the bolt patterns are the same? X5 4.8is to X6 5.0
