Voice Command not working?

Hi all. In my 08 M3 bluetooth downloaded all my contacts so when I push the voice button on the steering wheel and say "dial jim", it just finds his number and dials. On our 09 X5, the contacts are downloaded, however when I push the voice button it cannot find any contacts (even though they show up in the communications menu).

Did some searching, appears you have to create seperate entries in the X5 phone book? That doesnt seem right. Shouldnt this work like in my M3?

When I say "phone book" it tells me its empty. However in the communication menu I see 100's of my outlook contacts from my windows phone.

You must store each contact individually. It is a tedious process. Hit the voice button and say "save name" you will then be guided through the process of saying the name twice and then entering the corresponding phone number. It helps to have the phone number available, unless you have all of them memorized. If you are like most of us, the last numbers you memorized were about 18 years ago.
