Dinan products won't void warranty

I live in NYC, but I bought my xDrive in Boston. My dealer in Boston tells me they're about to get Dinan back as a certified mods provider (again) after years.
Beside having my reg warranty, I also purchased an extended warranty, which means I'm pretty much stuck with a stock car unless I'm willing to give up on my warranty, obviously beside the esthetic changes.
I have all possible pkgs, Sport, Winter, Premium, etc, so I'm not unhappy, but I always put the extra mods on my cars, as most of us here.
I guess I will wait for the Dinan Stage 1. 2 and 3, still not sure about lowering the car, although I know Dinan won't provide that anyway. I do want my exhaust sys replaced asap though, but I really don't anything about Dinan's exhaust, are they any good? anybody here has one? What else will Dinan offer for our E70s?
Has anybody else around the country heard about Dinan becoming a certified vendor for BMW?
Thanks all!

Not sure about Dinan's status, but as far as aftermarket parts are concerned, they will only void the warranty if they can prove that particular parts is what caused an issue. However, you may have more of a headache if the dealer claims your part caused the issue when it actually didn't. That is when the blame game can start.

"Void" is a term without any real significance...

The issue is that ANY warranty claim will be denied if BMW thinks a mod was involved. What lay people (ie 90% of the readers here) think is a 'cause' and what BMW and the courts think are a cause are very different.

It is then 'lets play lawsuit" while your car sits in the shop. You spend $40k getting an $8k tranny replaced becuase they claim the increased power due to the flash caused the tranny to fail.

Meanwhile, people say "the flash didn't cause the tranny to fail" and BMW cites test data that shows increased input torque can put more stress on the tranny than the stock torque. Judge agrees.

BMW holds all the cards. Do not think that "they have to prove" will give you any safe haven. The DON'T have to prove before they deny, and in court they have ALL the proof and you have very little. And the vendors for those tunes and mods will be long gone.

Dinan, BTW will step in and pay warranty claims if their device causes the failure. They have a closer relationship with BMW, and, given their prices, can underwrite a more comprehensive claims adjudication process. (They also are pretty 'safe' when it comes to gains.) This and their CA CARB certs are the reason they charge so damn much for their stuff.

I agree that it can possibly be a headache when dealing with BMW on a warranty issue when a mod has been performed. I also agree that Dinan is probably the best bet for modding a BMW under warranty. Not only because it is a quality product, but also because their warranty does match BMW's original warranty.

Their webside says that if your car is still under the manufacturer's original warranty they will replace the Dinan part as well as any OE parts affected. However, if you are out of the original warranty period, they only warrant their part for two years and will not replace any associated OE part affected.

I would be hesitant to use a company that is fly by night, but a product form a company like Turner Motorsports or others that have been in the game for a long time and will continue to do so would be a better bet than unknown, new comapnies.

Thank you both for great advice. I really have to make up my mibd about this, as Dinan has good product, but not cheap and as you said, the gains aren't that great.
Anybody here with a Dinan exhaust?
