New order question / dillema

Hey Guys,

We placed the order for our new X5 on Aug 27th. We just found out today that we are scheduled for production in week 40. Week 40 just happens to be the week that the new iDrive changes are going in correct?

I was thinking I would not have a chance to get them since we ordered in August but now it looks like I might? I talked to my dealer and he told me I can delay for a couple weeks if I want to be sure but I don't know if I should. Our current lease is up on Oct. 9th so I am in a bit of a predicament. In general, once the X5 is in production it's about 4 weeks till you get it right?

Sorry for the barrage of questions but I feel like this is the best place to ask.

Thanks!

I was in the exact same boat. I had a late September production which was when the new Idrive changes were supposed to be implemented but caught wind of the production week of 40 (thanks to the great forums) Since I am going to be spending 80K on a car which I will have for many years, I delayed my order for a production week of 41 or later. My lease is up on the 4th and was worried but BMW financial will extend your lease on a month by month basis with a order/production number or VIN. If you don't want to take a chance, delay the production date, just tell you dealer to delay the date. Also you get a 10 grace period on your lease return so you could get to the 19th for turn in. it may be cheaper to rent a car for a week than pay for another lease payment. You could also ask the dealer for a loaner for a few days also.

Do you feel confident you will get the new parts on a week 41 build? I am in the same boat as you about the amount of money spent and wanting to make sure I get the latest upgrades.

Might as well list out my build here since I am so excited.
