Performance wise, they don't feel as sharp as the Dunlops (to me anyway). It could just be my imagination, I suppose. |

Yes you can retrofit the spare however you have to buy all the parts separately as BMW no longer offers a single part number for all parts of the spare. You would need to remove the 3rd row as well if you have it.

Thanks, I don't have the 3rd row, just the storage compartment.

I replaced the oem tires with these continentals on my x5. The wheel size is 20". Although I found the comfort factor improved significantly and reduced tire noise considerably I do find these tires rather disappointing for handling/cornering. I think the issue is the softer tire wall.
Overall it's a bit of a trade off .. Pros: Long tire life Lower cost Quiet Improved comfort on rough roads All season tires Cons: Poorer handling/cornering Not as "convenient" as run flats - requires mobility kit or spare. |

here is the link
BMW Group Australia > BMW Owner > Genuine BMW Accessories > X5 Spare Wheel Carrier > Introduction problem own here in Australia is that you can be 2000km from a dealer, or even a tyre shop that carries anything other than tyres for a Landcruiser! I was 2.5 hours from Sydney and had a nail in the runflats on my E92 coupe, and it was going to be 3 days till they could get a tyre. I just got them to put on a standard tyre in the same size(I had to try 4 different shops and drive an hour before I could find one in the right size). The run flats down here are a stupid price as well. The 20" on my E70 they want close to $1000 a tyre. I'm going to see how much the wheel carrier is. I its no good, i'm going to go with standard tyres and slime as my backup. |
