I don't know why BMW doesn't put the larger screen in all the iDrive cars. Even those of us who don't want BMW's Nav system (like me) would appreciate the larger screen for things like iPod/USB music navigation, or all the connected drive stuff now available (e.g. e-mail via your bluetooth-enabled smartphone). It can't be THAT much more expensive just for the screen, and BMW could probably save some money by having just one part instead of two. Or as a second best, throw in the larger screen with the Premium package and charge a couple hundred more. I won't pay $1900 for what I think is an inferior nav system to a $399 top-of-the-line Garmin or Tom-Tom, but I'd pay $250 more for just the larger screen to better navigate my iPod!
