495hp/573 ft-lbs??

Very promising for stage 1. Any reason to think it would be any different for the X5 50? Price point is a good bit higher than 35i stage 1 software, but so are gains.

Ok, now I really regret going with 3rd row seats over adaptive drive!

Dinan BMW - What's New
NEW Performance Software for X6 xDrive50i and 750i!

We are excited to announce the availability of 4.4L V8 Turbo Stage 1 Performance Engine Software for the X6 xDrive50i and 750i. Impressive gains have been made by turning up the turbo boost from 9.8 psi to 14 psi. Both cars produce 495 hp and 573 ft-lbs of torque! As with all Dinan software the factory safeguards are maintained along with the removal of the top speed governor.

2009 - 2010 F01 750i (iMipp w/ Ethernet adaptor is required)
495 hp @ 5000rpm
573 ft-lbs @ 3500rpm

2008 - 2010 E71 X6 xDrive50i (iMipp Only & Blue DCAN Adapter)
495 hp @ 5000rpm
573 ft-lbs @ 3500rpm

The price point is $2999. That's a lot of coin for a software upgrade. It is just about a 100 hp gain and over 170 lb-ft of torque, though.

I'll be *all over that* (or a stage 2) for my X5 5.0i when they get it done...

The cold air intake for an E39M5 costs 1700 and has a 6HP gain. Yes, "six".

At 2999 it is one of THE most cost effective dinan mods, dollar per HP wise.

Also keep in mind that, IMO, there is a large piece of change that goes to underwrite legal/warranty when/if something blows up and BMW gets pissy about the cause of the failure.

Doncha just love FI??

Seriously, considering that most of my roadtrips involve mountain passes, and huge perf gains can be had for the money, FI was a must-have for me.

Nah, its 95 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque The 50i is rated 400hp/450 lb-ft

Still a nice bump in output. $3000 is both a lot of money for a software upgrade and a great deal for 123 lb-ft of torque.

Wonder when the X5 50i will be available...

I sent an email off to them to ask. They are still asking for someone's X5 as a development platform, but they're ALSO still asking for an X6 as well and they've released the Stage 1 kit already.

If I hear back from them I'll let you know what I hear.

Dude, 3k for 95hp in a German car making 400hp to start with. That is cheap compared to the 5k+ for a bunch of 6-10hp boltons

+60HP/+73Tq on the 35i motor for $1,699!

I'm definitely interested, but main concern is how does Dinan's warranty work vs. OEM's? Anyone has experience w/Dinan products w/subsequent OEM warranty denied by BMW? What happens after that point?
