x5 35d on order - picking up at performance center

New to this forum ~ just ordered an X5 last week - can't wait to pick it up at the end of the month in Spartenburg!

Here's what I opted for: Alpine White with Cinnamon Brown & Dark Bamboo, ZAP with 2LE 20" & adaptive drive, ZPP, ZPS, ZTP, running boards & roof rails, side-view camera, Head-up display.

Last X5 was a 2001 4.4i - best vehicle I've owned.

Great forum - can't wait to start modding

Congratulations.. the wait is excruciating, but the pain fades pretty quickly once you slide into the drivers seat the first time

Not sure from your options list, did you get adaptive drive or active steering? either one of those would be a great add (not cheap though). I am really liking adaptive drive on mine. Steering is heavier than I'm used to (my first BMW) and active steering might have given me more for the effort, but I'll live :-)

I'd recommend you get ZAV - active ventilated seats. I found them great for NJ climate, you'll like it down there in FL !

Consider Auto High Beams, too - it is relatively "cheap" option compared to other ones. I have them and they are great - but only if you live and drive in suburbs.

I have one on order as well. I have a question though, where did you find the side camera option? I ordered mine fully loaded and I did not see that side camera option on the build sheet. Thank you.

Thanks guys.

I went back and forth on the ventilated seats, but after reading all the threads I could find on the forums, it seamed the effectiveness was questionable, and I wanted to try another color besides black.

The auto-high seems cool, but after adding $20k in options, I decided to stop.

The side view camera wasn't on the dealer's build sheet either, I actually got the code from pricing it at Edmunds.com, the option is 5DK ($300).

I got adaptive drive, not adaptive steering. I prefer the heavier feel at slow speeds too.

So you added $20K in options, but cheaped-out on a $250 option??? IMHO, if you can afford ($-wise) to get such loaded SAV, you might as well go all-in on options.

BTW, in my case, ventilated seats work very well, I do feel them, even through jeans/suit pants. Definitely keeps you back and bottom dry in hot/humid weather. And the package comes with active seat, which I found very good on long trips.
