For some reason people think that bigger wheels mean better performance, without limit. Not true. especially on the X5, the sidewalls are needed to allow the contact patch to conform with the road as the body rolls....
You are correct. Hence the fact that you don't see race cars sitting on 22''s...
In relation to this thread, the "performance" was to come in the form of a lighter wheel for reduced rotational mass.

I had the 20" 214's. Loved the way they look. But they were a nightmare to clean.

I replaced them with the 21" 128's (simple 5 spoke design). They look great and are super easy to keep clean. But miss the mpg, ride and tire replacement cost of the 20". It's probably not a very big difference in mpg, but I do get slightly less (about 1 mpg or less difference), the ride on the 20's are stiff (which I like), but the 21's are just a little stiffer. Not a huge difference. But the replacement cost is significant, especially since you can get Bridgestone's for the 20's.

We are actually getting another X5 and are just keeping the 20" 336 on those. But I would have preferred the 227.

Is it me or do the 333's look too small in person?

Easy to clean, don't show brake dust much, look better than the other options IMO.

I really like those rims. But aren't those for the X6? Thus if you want them for the X5, you need them bored out.

I got the reps. They fit both X5 and X6 without boring (no pun intended).

You're right, the OEM X6M rims require boring for the rears.

What is the style number of those? Also, what is the size and weight? They look like they would be lighter than the 214s and 215s. Anything out there that isn't a BMW or replica wheel?

Style 300. Size is 20", same tire size as OEM 20", weight I'm not sure but they don't slow me down much

those style 300s definitely look better from a side view than the 214s. At angles though I'd take the 214s. That's why I'm still hesitant on changing over... love it though.
