you may want to buy a mat for the baby carrier so the weight doesn't mark the bottom of your rear seats. Any can be had for under $20 at Babies R Us. I think I went with Eddie Bauer ones and they're pretty thick while still foldable (and washable).
For the trunk, I would recommend the fitted "luggage mats" that may run just under $100. Great peace-of-mind knowing you can toss anything in there without scratching the track or ripping the carpeting. It's also good at protecting from spills. BTW, you didn't list comfort seats... which seats are those? It appears the headrest side button is different then ours now.

Sorry to hear about the engine problem though. You'll love the power once they finally take care of that for you (and you get through break-in, I did notice the engine seemed to loosen up the closer I got to 1k miles). I have about 1800 on mine now, have had it for just over a month. I hit my first issue today though. I got a message that came up on mine saying the engine was at minimum oil level, that a quart needed to be added. Huh? Really? Why would that be the case, considering how new this thing is?

As far as oil...i also had to add a quart at round 3500 miles....These things drink oil like two stroke dirt bikes but hey its not coming out of my pocket.
The headrests have changed on the 2011's atleast compared to my 2007. They are now adjustable fore and aft, which is a nice feature.

Opened the hood to notice a small hose unplugged underneath the passenger side air intake. I don't think this is supposed to be like this. I can't figure out where it plugs into. Maybe this in the culprit as to my engine malfunction/reduced power. I'll try and take a picture of it later today.
I also just realized I didn't get the "smart phone integration" either. What exactly does that do anyways and why would I want it when I can connect my iPhone through Bluetooth? Any idea if this along with "heated rear seats" can be added? |

The best feature of the Smartphone integration is that you can download your contacts phone numbers and address. This comes in handy when you want to set a destination with one of your contacts, you don't have to type the whole thing in. If you have the cradle for your phone, you can charge it, supposedly get a better signal and can listen to your music without plugging in the Ipod cable. Its definitely worth it, however BMW barely has any cradles. Still waiting for the IPhone 4 cradle.

JK-
I'm supposed to pick my X5 50i from Erhard either sometime this week and at the latest Monday, depends on when it arrives. I don't have the M-Sport package so I assume I have black roof rails. I'll take a look at how the roof rails looks and may be interested in swapping you. Smart move on the wheels, I went with the OEM 20's (style 336) and now I'm going to immediately swap out to winters. I prefer to get a whole new wheel and tire set but I do want anything so small that it doesn't fill out the wheel well/flare. I'm not sure if I can PM yet but I will definately post up here once I pickup the vehicle. |

The cable for the ipod plugs into the inside front part of centre arm rest console.
