Ol' Rocky Top

I've done a lot of reading on here about the Sport suspension and the argument regarding whether or not its worth getting. Over the weekend, I took a road trip from Knoxville to Charlotte through the Smoky Mountains (I-40).

Hands down...get it. I was giving it way more speed than recommended by TDOT (and the law). It hugged corners more tightly than Ben Roethlisberger in a bathroom. Seriously, I drove our RRS through this very same stretch or highway and felt the weight alone made it feel very unstable through the windy roads. But the 4.8i had more than enough horsepower and felt just as nimble through the turns as my 328i (w/ sport pkg) did when I was blessed to drive it on the Autobahn.

So, if you have the coinage and are a spirited driver...it should be a no brainer

My X5 M Sport amazed everyone with how well it handled the Tail of the Dragon (near that same area) and stayed with the M3s and M6s. Just imagine 318 turns in 11 miles, all marked with a 15-25 mph speed limit. We took them just a leetle faster than that.

My rule is that I only slow down if its a 20mph curve or less.

Yep! We hit it starting 7am on a weekday morning. We had several runs with 0 traffic.

Oh, I know the dragon well. Haven't had the chance to do it in the X yet. Went out in the 3. Made me really wished I had an M3.

and you guys are right about the weekdays!
