Pulling to the Right - Caused by Cal Steering Angle Sensor?
Remove Steering Wheel. Remove and replace SZL, it is one piece with Wiper Switch. Install Everything back. Complete encode/program vehicle including CAS. Initialized Windows and Sunroof. Performed a short test on ISTA. Calibrate Steering Angle Sensor. DIAGCODE#D3450_OOOBOSCH_99_460. Clear all faults. Road test vehicle. It is operating normal at this time. |

Hi davahad,
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...es-go-off.html It's a long shot, but try calibrating the angle sensor by turning the steering wheel lock to lock after you've started her right up. I know I've had to do this w/ an E320 before. |

I just did what you suggested and while doing this I noticed in a window reflection that the tires turn farther to the right than they do to the left. I used the tire position in relation to the bumper but not sure if this is a valid way to reference the tire position.

Also, tried to make the tires perfectly straight and compare the right and left sides in relation to the wheel well/bumper and the right front tire definitely sticks out further than the left (driver's side) side.
Is this normal? |

Oops. When turning the steering wheel perfectly straight now both front tires look aligned and the right isn't sticking out further than the left.

Are you sure it is really "pulling" to the right?
It is quite possible that the steering wheel might not be properly centered, so that when the steering wheel is perfectly straight, the wheels could be pointing to the right. If you were to use the steering wheel position to judge this, you might think it is pulling to the right. If you go to a flat, open parking lot, go forward, and take you hands off the wheel, does it go to the right? If you definitely does pull to the right on a flat surface, you should inform the dealership ASAP, to avoid any suggestion that you hit a pothole or something between the time vehicle was returned to you and the time you notified then of an issue. It's possible someone hit a curb or something with it while it was at the dealership and messed-up the alignment. |

I had alignment problems before where it was pulling to the right and the dealer said it was fine, but they went ahead and did the alignment any ways and since then it was perfect.
Where I always notice the problem is on the freeway and prior to what they did it was fine. When I test on Freeway I get in the far left lane and when there is a section that tilts slightly to the left for drainage I get it straight and let it go and it will pull to the right. |

Do you have Active Steering?

No. If I remember correctly the Diesel didn't have an option for active steering.
