Hologeen Headlights changing to Original OEM Xenon haedlights

Hi
I have a 2007 e70 without xenon and i bought myself a very expensive set off complete Xenon headlights original from bmw ON EBAY. Now i was looking at the cable plugs but they are not the same?

Does anyone know what to do?
Can i cut the cables and just connect them ?

I know i will have to go to the dealer to programm the computer to let it know it has Xenon lights installed but for now please who can explain to me how to work?

Also i bought the Xenon from someone that wanted to take mine Halogeen headlights now he has the same problem from going from Xenon to halogeen.

Please help because i got a very good deal to get these xenons

Doing the conversion is difficult and costly, as you need more things than just the headlight. I think the ballasts and ignitor are also necessary, along with recoding the Light Control Module, and possibly a new headlight switch.

Xenon headlights are standard equipment in Canada and the US, so there isn't much folks here can help.

Why did you do that? I believe your halogens have projectors so you could just install H1 HIDs for your low beams. In that case total price will be around $50 if you install it yourself. Moreover, with 50W HID kit you should have no "bulb out" massages on the dash board.

I suggest DDM tuning (ddmtuning.com) because they have good prices and lifetime warranty, I'm sure you can arrange shipping to Europe with them. I have installed many HID kits with zero problems, not in E70 X5 but in E53 and many other cars. E70 comes standart with HIDs in USA and Canada.

Good luck.

I installed hid kit into my original halogen housing.

Most will give you headaches with regards to dash errors. Look for genuine mteh hid kit on eBay, you will need h7 bulb.

I installed mtec h7 hid with NO errors. They are more expensive but you do get what you pay for. The only problem is in the installation itself as the access is really poor and you have to be a contortionist to get behind the headlight, this was the biggest headache for me and took me hours to do!

The result though is very worthwhile.

I choice to put HID 35watt with 6000k
And there is a cable in between so the lights will not give any error in the dashboard. But now the problem is sometimes when i start my car i get a Left or right bulb error and the light does not go on. Then i have to turn it off and on manually and the light will go on. Reading the ebays instructions for installing HID XENON after market you can not keep the automatic turn on lights. You can only turn on manually?
Does anyone has any problems like me?

And also now i want to change the Halogene angelrings after looking on the internet i heared i need H1. I wanted to buy the Halogen Lampen Xenon Optik BMW X5 H1 H3 H4 H7 H11 HB4 bei eBay.de: Designleuchten Lichter (endet 09.01.11 17:29:19 MEZ)

according on the site it gives 6000k light so same as xenon does anyone has experience with this?
Maybe i will take out the Xenon Hid h7 also and replace them with these bulbs because i get stressed by the error it comes and goes.

It sounds like you have a bad bulb or ballast. The inexpensive HID kits are made in China/Taiwan and the quality control is terrible. It's very common for these parts to fail.
