thinking of purchasing 07 3.0, mistake?
the car comes with premium, running boards, tech package, etc. basically its pretty loaded. car has 25k miles. i've been doing a lot of searching around the forums and the biggest beef with earlier model e70s is the transmission being jerky (4.8 more than the 3.0) im not concerned with the power as my wife will just be driving around town. the car was in service 9/2007 so it has a lil less than a year of no maintenance and almost 3 years of warranty. I can get this car for $34K before tax and license. good deal? conversely, i can lease a new 3.5D for about the same price as what my monthly payment would be. |

My 2007 X5 3.0si was the 2nd worst car I have ever owned (any my spouse and I are on about car 28 or maybe 30). While I cannot give details, it was SO bad BMW purchased it back from me. The electical problems were so numerous and severe...it was literally a nightmare.
Do yourself a favour, lease the 35d. The 3.0si is slow, and the X5 is a very heavy car. Also, mpg is not great in the 3.0, as the engine has to work very hard, due to the size and weight of the truck. I am beyond happy with my 35d. I feel obsessed with it
