Wind Noise from front windshield !

2011 X5 ... when the car gets up to > 60mph I get this very noticeable wind noise from the front windshield ... its loud enough that I thought my windows were open. Is this a design imperfection to all x5s or just my car ??

'07, '08 and now '11 E70...never had this. Sorry. I would have the dealer look at this. Possibly the weather seal is defective!

I have a theory about your problem. There was a manufacturing issue at the plant in S.C. during the windshield installations on certain recent X5/X6s. BMW issued a TSB to the dealers to remove the defective windshields and windshield seals (from certain VINs) and replace/repair. Yours may have been missed (likely) or was improperly repaired at the dealer (I think this would be unlikely, the training that the BMW Techs received on this repair was quite extensive).

Interesting.. Mine makes the same noise - was delivered new in the beginning of September. I will make a note to bring it up.

I don't suppose anyone has the TSB handy?

Are folks in the habit of taking it in to the dealer early for issues like this, or just wait until the 15K maintenance? (mine has 6200 miles on it)

The same thing happened on my 2007 X5. Not sure what the dealer did to fix it but it is no longer there.
