Ipod for 2007 E70
Question: Are all model ipod's compatible? I like the touch model that allow videos and games to be played. Not sure if they're 3rd or 4th generation. Just want to make sure I won't have a problem connecting it and playing the audio via the E70 audio system. I'm actually considering the newest Ipod Touch Model: MC540LL/A

I'm not aware of any issues with iPods/iPhones since at least Dec 2007 (when it was on 6th gen iPod, classic, etc.)
I think what's more important is what model Y-adapter cable you have. Since your car was produced there's been at least three P/N 611120440645, 612230440796, 6112044812. The Y-adapter has the bolded numbers on them in raised lettering. I have the second one, in my 2008 E70, and have no problem with any iPod or iPhone models. I think the only problems are with the first one I listed... |

I think that for older (2007-2008) X5's, you are better off buying the
BlackBerry Remote Stereo Gateway - Bluetooth audio adapter (its ~30-50 bucks) that plugs into the Aux input, and is powered by the power socket in the arm console. Cheaper and more intuitive way to control the Ipod, and you can use Pandora, movie streaming, etc. The Ipod software of the older X5;s is slow and blows. |
