Viper Remote start Q

Does anyone install Viper Remote start on 2011 X5 or any E70?

I'm trying to get this but i'm worried about BMW warranty.

How was it? i'm too lazy to start up vehicle without remote start.

To my knowledge you can't install a remote starter on the X5. If you could you would need another coded remote/key to use as a "sacrificial" key remote that would need to be placed in the car permanently. I had looked into a remote starter when I got my 07 and there was nothing on the market.

BMW X5 WITH REMOTE STARTER

According to your suggestion *Denalio,* about upgrading our *BMW's is impossible with a: Remote starter distance button. I think it would be an amazing option to make our BMW's even more enjoyable! As I would be the 1st one to upgrade this great feature system on my: (2001 X5 4.4i). But I'm a little worried if this option would ended in the future badly and cause some other failures. However I did it before on my: 00 Mitsubishi Galant, but the guy had to order me a second key which has been placed every since inside a little electronic box in the car, in order for the system to work.

But I don't think you will need a second key on any BMW's for the system to start, once these high type class vehicles have already builded with it's magnetism start system on them. By the way, the guy works as a professional, the way he aligned those wires from the dashboard through the engine compartment it's like wow, nothing can be seen, like the car was made like that. Otherwise the guy will probably capable of doing it because that's all it does. Also I see another guy on ebay who's selling his 03 bmw X5 and he claimed having the remote start system on his BMW X5.

see his key picture below..

Remote start on a bmw

I think many professional electrician guys would probably scared to mess with the BMW's engine system, plus if it would require another extra key to be placed permanently inside the vehicle, in order for the system to work. Due to the extra cost to own another key, I think this is why most BMW's owner wouldn't even try it. Otherwise I wonder what could be such difficult with BMW's starting system to not able to upgrade such an amazing option like that.

Once again! there's a guy that selling his 2003 BMW X5 on ebay and he claimed having the system pictured above on it.

Before I purchase this remote starter system, I plan to ask one of the professional technician I know that already hooked-up this similar system for me before on a (00 Mitsubishi Galant) that I still owned; to see if he capable of doing it on my BMW X5 4.4i

The 2003 can be done no issue, the E70 grew much more complicated, it may still be doable without comfort access - if you have comfort access, then I think you are pretty much out of luck as I have not seen anything that would work to emulate the key security and you can't leave a key in the car or you can't lock it with comfort access.

Even if it can be done without causing nuisance problems with the electronics, using it in the cold weather is very bad for the engine. Leaving a car idling in the cold is hard on it, and can cause consequential damage. Just look at all the oil separator problems caused by not warming the engine up fully.

Remote start on a bmw

I kinda with you *JCL* and this is why I usually run the engine 1st for about: 5 to 8 mtes, so oil can soak up through the cylinder head before I turn my fan heater on. However for the X5, the heater/Air conditioning control system seems en option on BMW's that automatically comes on by itself everytime you start the car. And I always wonder if this is an option designed specific for all BMW's engine system.
