I don't own either, but between friends and being a BMW mechanic, I've had my hands on just about everything...still waiting to drive a 760iL though - I've got my fingers crossed.

I hear you on the bikes, i ridden them all my life as well....sorry if the above was out of line, just seems KREED was posting that he was enjoying his car and an experience in it and everyone wants to take it away from him....e.g. not a 5 series, not a bike...he had a good BMW moment...good for him!
You're exactly right JasonG. I was basically stating that I was really enjoying my X5. Before getting my E70 I watched a few reviews on Youtube. I always wanted one but what did the reviewers think. The expert drivers were really pushing the E70 on the track and it held its ground. I was hesitant at first driving the X5 hard, but everyday I get a chance to push her I realize the "fun factor" is still there; just in a bigger body. The "Fun Factor" isn't as high as my previous 550, but it's still there. GO BMW!!!!

As far as motorcycles... I've ridden them and YES - HUGE FUN FACTOR!!!! I like speed too much, but I'd rather have a metal cage around me while driving down here in South Florida. There's way too many people driving down here that shouldn't.

"There's way too many people driving down here that shouldn't".....

Ditto for AZ, no street bike for me here....and i used to split the lanes in the Bay Area during the .com era and spent at least 3 months on a bike in Oz (wrong side of the road, Yama R1)....i'm 100% off road for the time being...

HALO gives you enough time to take care of business and enjoy the ride...although the 02 mask gets in the way! :-)

I got what you were saying. Sure, compared to an F1 car, it is not great handling or fast. Compared to other vehicles in its class though....

Everything is relative, and someone is always faster. Question is whether you're having fun or not. Sounds like you are.

[QUOTE=m5james;792548]Shouldn't you be over on E46 Fanatics w/ the other teenagers? Wordls apart physically, but until you've driven then, it's strictly uneducated opinion on your part as the OP has owned and driven both.

Not only have I driven both, I own both, so I'm speaking from experience. But thanks for your "ignorant" opinion. Plus, it's all in jest.

You must hang out with ARD, another class act on this board.....

Your screen name eludes to you having a completely different vehicle, you have NOTHING in your signature, so I based my "ignorant" reply on your "lazy" lack of taking the maybe 5 minutes of time needed to complete your own profile.

As for Ard, I know maybe 3-4 members on here personally, and as far as I know, I have no issues w/ him since nothing is popping up in my head when hearing his name. Sounds like your issue w/ Ard is just that...your issue.

I also own an E36 M3, which is a 3-Series and a fantastic handling car. Head and shoulders above any E60 or E70.

Future life tip, don't make assumptions....its makes an a** out of....
About the profile, my choice for privacy is no excuse for ignorance...
Or perhaps I don't want each of my posts to look like a "teenager on E46 fanatics" with a picture and 8 pages of modifications listed.....

For example.....

325hp 98 BMW 740iL - ///M5 6spd, Iron sleeves, L/W Teflon coated & silicone impreg pistons, 3 angle valvejob, P&P head, cams, electric fan, CF intake tube w/ heatshield, Mag 14816 w/ notched bumper, Bilstein/H&R Stage II/Powerflex

But to end this for me, I apologize to the OP if I offended him/her. My original comment on this thread was in jest.

As everyone already concluded, the X5 handles great for a SUV and the OP was just letting everyone know he had a great drive.
