A lot depends on driving style and location, including braking and highway vs. city. When I am traveling on a long interstate trip, I might not use my brakes for 300 miles at a time, as contrasted to the daily commute I use to do during rush hour where at least mild braking was required about once a minute. I'm not very aggressive most of the time and am currently at 21K with my Brdgestones. Measuring the tread, it looks like I might get 30K out of them (the less tread there is left, the slower the wear rate becomes).
But then on my old Explorer I got 86K out of the original Firestones, and didn't need brake pads until around 85K. My 2005 Focus is still on it's original brake pads and shoes at 65K. I'm a mild braker, and look ahead a lot... I'm always surprised how many drivers will continuing accelerating when the next light turns red, only to brake hard when they are a couple of hundred feet from the light that just turned red. It seems a lot of drivers only react to the bumper and brake lights of the vehicle immediately ahead of them. That's hard on brakes and fuel economy. Not that I'm against the spirited driving, but shooting from one stop light to another using hard acceleration and hard braking, in my experience, doesn't get you there any faster... |

Can't speak for the E70, but I got 34k out of my rears and one had a nail in it for 29k of that. The original fronts were still on the car when I turned it in last week and they had 39K and about 3/32 left. And yes I'm talking miles

Agreed. Please delete the huge reference to Obama as well - it has no place on this forum.

Here we go again! Stang let's stop this before it gets out of control again.
Phil, although I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum politically, I have zero issues with you bc of it. Youve always been very respectful about it on the forums, so whatever. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But unfortunately everyone doesn't think that way and it may cause some unfair judgments about your character by naive individuals. As a "friend" on this forum, I think it would probably be to your own benefit to delete the reference. Totally your decision though!

Politics have no place on this forum, whether via discussion or on someone's in your face tag line. The fact that Nazario states "here we go again" proves my point. If soldmystang used the funds to buyabrain, he'd realize this as well.
Back on topic - my RFT's have 27K on them but look/ride brand new, will be swapped out in the spring. |

While I chuckle at the political references being made, my signature is my signature. My character on this forum has been long defined before Obama even considered running for office. The fact that I have kept his name in my signature has no bearing on this forum. The fact that it has spawned a comment by another member would lead me to question his character or lack there of. Nazario I appreciate your concern about the impact or the statement my signature might make. But really, it's a personal thing. If someone doesn't like it, they should search the world wide web and find a new sand box to play in. My reputation around here speaks for itself. Now please, can we talk about RFT
