E70 won't start

I had a fluid leak on my E70 which soaked the inside. I took the passenger seat out to dry out the carpet, and to avoid airbag light i disconnected the battery. Now however after reconnecting it will not start. Got power because I can get audio etc. Any ideas??

You have to plug it to DIS diagnosis after disconnecting the battery.

Actually I have discovered a way round it! You disconnect the Ibs cable and then the car will start. Replace the ibs cable and then you get a load of iDrive errors but when you drive around the block they clear! Car ok now.

Where did you disconnect the I-bus cable?

No, the IBS cable - Intelligent Battery System. There is a small black plug that plugs into the negative terminal on the battery. Unplug it and it disables the IBS, and you can start the car, then when you plug the IBS cable back in everything is ok again.
