I have AD and no noises.
Is your car brand new? Miles? How long has it been doing this??? |

I had Adaptive Drive on my 2008 X5 4.8i...and I had just what you are saying. My 2008 and 2009 ML63 AMGs (with Mercedes' version of AD) also had this kind of sound.
My 2007 E70 and now my 2011 E70; NO Adaptive Drive, and none of these sounds. Just from my experience, the Adaptive Drive might be the reason! |

I have it and had complained of the sound early on but I haven't heard it for a long while now. Dealer techs say it's normal flex from the vehicle which is really rigid to start with so that's what happens. But I remember reading an explanation from a member here that it is a reflected sound from a pan on the undercarriage. My memory is horrible - hopefully I can find the thread.
