X pipes would have been better mechanically since it helps scavenge the exhaust...even the stock resonator is internally x-piped, it's just muffled as well. Either way, it sounds good.

What do you mean by scavenged?

Each exhaust pulse passes by one another at seperate times, so when one passes, it pulls/scavenges the exhaust gasses out of the other pipe at the same time. Im remembering images of some video when I was a kid of using a garden hose, spraying forward, and it pulling things with it from the forward force. Your exhaust does the same thing, which is why when shops make headers, they make them for different lengths, w/ S bends, etc...to achieve the scaveging affect.

I thought it sounded better than stock. I had the resonator cut out and an X pipe added to get a bit more sound out of my X. The 4.8 engines have an amazing soundtrack.
