You are 100% correct. I try to explain that to people and they don't get it. Adding navigation is not like putting on new floor mats. Come on people.

Ok, I have another question... sorry but you all are so helpful and I need help

The car I am looking at has a good service history. However, the service records say "A/C performance checked" about every 6 months. Is that a normal type of thing to see on a service record?

Thanks!

I think this message does not mean anything IMO. Perhapse previous owner was always hot even in nice airconditioned environtment ( like my mom for example ) and was coming to a dealership to make sure it's working fine. My mom asks me to open the windows even in winter time.
Or..may be it a new way for BMW dealer to charge manufactury for the work they never do, but get money for that

Before BMW bought my 2007 3.0si back from me...I complained about weak, and poorly peforming A/C everytime I had to take the car in, or everytime the car was towed in

My 2006 E90 and 2007 E70 both had the WORST A/C I have ever had in any car, any brand!

I have an 07 X5, August MF month.
In the 3.5 years I have owned it, here are the warranty repairs I have done:
Flickering hill descent switch - Replaced
Intermittent heat loss to rear vent (I noticed this because someone on this forum had same issue) - fixed
Audio source switched on its own, this happened only once and after parking overnight stopped but took it to dealership for FW upgrade all the same.

That's it. This car is a keeper and has been very reliable lots of highway and city driving, I have about 50k miles. To each his own I guess, deutsch100, maybe you got a lemon or I got lucky but seriously, I spent more $$ on my Japanese care over the last 3.5 years than my X. ( I did in between recommended services for engine/break oil changes out of pocket)

Do you have the rear climate package where they have their own controls? I don't have it and I'm wondering if the vents in that armrest console is supposed to blow the same air the fronts are... meaning if I have the main control set to hot, shouldn't the rears also blow hot? I seem to get cold air all the time even when I have that horizontal switch pointing to the red (seems like it's not connected to anything)... the times I got hot I have no idea what I did different. Is this the issue someone had?

yeah, no rear climate package too. The vents blow the same air as the front settings, they took the rear a/c vents apart and not sure if they added a retrofit kit like they did for dc2 in this thread but its not repeated itself since.
