Wow, the irony of this thread...
I am waiting for my PCD session for my diesel, and this morning the girlfriend and I were behind an X5 at a stoplight. She asked if that X5 was a diesel and I said I won't know until I see the door. Her response was "it'd be nice if they gave the diesel an identity." Sir, I may have to steal this from you as it looks very nice.

The tick, tick, tick is kind of there. I really wish there was more Diesel sound...I love that. BMW, Mercedes & Audi have really worked tirelessly to make their Diesel engines sound like gasolines engines! I'm sure for most people this is a very good thing, but I like a Diesel engine to sound like a Diesel engine. Luckily, the X5 35d has much more diesel sound than the ML and GL Diesel and the Audi A3 and Q7 Diesels!!
