My dealer is also a Dinan dealer so I've been considering this as well... it's not inexpensive but I guess it isn't bad relative to the torque/hp increase. Also considering the exhaust... I had a Dinan exhaust on my e39 M5 and I loved the sound. Anyone here heard the X5 exhaust yet?

It might seem silly but I can't imagine how much worse the gas mileage can get on this car... so far I'm averaging about 12 mpg and that's mostly commuting (half highway)

After you get the Dinan software, please post your impressions/feelings. I am curious how it "feels" vs. the stock 50i. Thanks!

I must not be driving my 50i hard enough. My overall average after 7000 miles is 16.4 MPG. I'm getting 15.5 in the daily commute and get 19-20 on the highway. Considering only 2000 miles is pure highway and 700 miles was a hard sporty mountain trip, the 16.4 is a good average.

That is pretty impressive. I get barely 14mpg on my 14 mile round trip stop and go city commute and on a recent trip of 120 miles at just over 80 mph I barely got 18 mpg. Who knows if my replica 20"s and snow tires make a big difference.

@TWCT: There is one guy on here with a black M-Sport 50i who has the Dinan software and the exhaust, but I forget his name. Maybe ask him for a sound clip because ZI would be interested to hear it as well.

Congrats. It is beautiful!!

In regards to gas mileage...it seems the 50i is better than the 4.8i! My 2008 4.8i was a pretty constant 9-10 mpg in gentle city driving. About 12, maybe 14mpg if I was lucky on the highway. It was insane!!

Love mine
Congrats TWCT very similar options to mine except color (silver/cinnamon). The Dinan package (software) makes a huge difference in performance, so much so that now mine is in for exhaust. If you do anything to it, get the software. With xdrive and 500hp the vehicle becomes a monster. In fact off the line it feels quicker than my Dinan M6

I'm a BMW X5 newbie, thus new to Dinan as well. Is there a software upgrade available for the 2011 X5 with the N55 engine?
