Yes, everything about the rear is what bothers me most. I personally think it looks horrible from any angle. Straight on rear, 3 quarter rear, etc. Bad from literally every angle, imo. The side profile is just slightly better, but the front is beautiful. Basically, it only looks good in your rearview mirror, you know, when it looks like an X5.

The styling of the X6 has grown on me, more so than the 5GT (ugh!). I did see two big downsides with the X6, one the lack of rear visibility, and two, if you need a large vehicle for utility, go for the X5, especially now with matching engines. I don't really see the point of the X6.

OTOH, the X6M I drove at the BMW Performance Center was an impressive drive, other than a VERY harsh 3-2 downshift. It was THE same X6 used in One Lap of America. Although the X5 50i seems to have 95% of the usable performance and handling, at a lower cost and more day to day civility.

If I'm buying a large SUV I expect it to at least seat 5 and be somewhat useful behind the 2nd row seat...

I like the x6 if it were my personal car, but we needed the space for our family so the x5 it is....

Exactly. I wanted either an X6 or a 550i. But with our daughter, my wife stressed to me that the extra room was a must. We just took our first weekend getaway in it last weekend. She was right. Our belongings are so much easier to transport in the X5. But damn, everytime I see one of the new 5 series, I get a tear in my eye .....
