Convenient Access question

For those with convenient access, when you turn the car off by pushing start/stop button, do you notice your nav screen still running?

My X5 does not have convenient access feature and turns nav screen off as soon as I push the start/stop button.

But my recently purchased X3 35i turns off nav only when I lock the car.
So when I am putting in gas, nav screen would be up the whole time.
Is there a setting in iDrive to make it turn off as soon as start/stop is pushed to stop?

Thanks,

Correct, all auxillary power stays on until you either hits the start/stop button a 2nd time or lock the car. Not sure if there's a setting to "fix" this feature... at least I haven't found it.

I believe if u hold button down a little longer when turning off the car it should turn everything off. Or u can just hit the button a second time like someone posted. Hope this helps.

Correct, press the button for about 2 seconds to shut off and kill aux power.

FIVE BMWs and FIVE years later...and I learn this now! I do not think the manuals states this, and the dealeship has never shown me this. Tried it 2x yesterday, and WOW...so much easier than pushing twice!!

Thanks everyone!!!!

Why press it twice [in the past] when just touching your door handle locks doors & shuts everything off anyway?

I DO NOT lock my car in the garage. Never have. Many times I am in the garage without the smart key and I need to get something in the car, while parked in the garage. If locked...then I cannot get in

Next thing you're gonna tell us that you don't know how to electronically adjust your headrest, or that the passenger mirror auto tilts down in reverse, or the fog light come on in reverse or in low speeds when the turn signal lights are on....

Also when aux power goes off -- you should see your steering wheel retract up and away from you for better egressing.
