CIC Video in Motion Development - Success!

Just a quick teaser of what we've been up to lately:

Video in Motion for 2010+ BMWs equipped with CIC iDrive (HDD based) are now a simple PnP through OBDII, programmed while you wait.

Other custom coding options are available.

BMW upgraded their iDrive systems in 2010 (CIC) which allows for DVDs to be played using the in-dash DVD system. Unfortunately, we are greeted with a "For your safety, video is only available when parked" message and and blank screen.

Programming allows full video while the vehicle is motion for passengers on those long trips.

Obviously, safety first! we recommend that you do not watch video content while driving and obey all laws applicable in your state.

For those not local to our facility in Anaheim, CA - SmartTV is the best solution:

mods4cars - smartTV Control for X5 (e70)
eas - 714.369.8524 | mods4cars - smartTV Control for X5 (e70)

For those local - you can choose between the programming or hardware based (smartTV) solution.

Would you please post the install instructions so we can see the level of complexity/digging into the dash that is done before considering a purchase?

Also, are there any ill effects when it is installed and being used? For example, if it is enabled, will our navigation be disabled or impaired? Does it cause warning or error codes? etc...

Any options for Australia?
Is it possible to program ourselves if we pay for instructions?

For those local to our facility in Anaheim, we can program the option through the OBD2 port.

For those NOT local, SmartTV will perform the same task, as well as the added option of turning on/off the safety interlock in case the vehicle is loaned or driven by someone else.

For those opting for the software solution - programming is performed by us. We do not perform remote coding - there are too many variables that can leave you stranded with a dead module or an unknown person taking complete control of your laptop to program.

For those not local or like to show off their DIY skills: the SmartTV module will be the best solution. Here are instructions for installing the SmartTV into a 3-series, the same steps apply for the X5:

Feel free to reply with any questions, or email/PM me directly for pricing.
