2008 X5 Paint Bubbling! Warranty? Defect?

2008 BMW X5 4.8L (60,000kms) - Sapphire Black

The paint on Window Finisher Frame (B Pillar Location) seems to be bubbling. It is happening to both sides. Is this a common problem? Would you say it should be covered under warranty? Appreciate your response.

Rust warranty typically only covers perforation, not paint bubbling. That said, that looks bad and I would take it in and expect them to fix it on the grounds that if left alone, it will end up with perforation prior to the expiry of the rust warranty.

Looks like it originally missed the proper surface prep in that location.

Should be covered under the new car warranty, not the rust warranty ...I would think.

It should be covered... and it should be fairly easy to swap out.
