Unhappy Fuel level "full" but still has one tick left to the "F"

I fill up my X5 completely with each gas fill-up. This means I put in between 19 to 19.5 gallons each time. I fill it until the gas pump "clicks". If I don't top off 3 TIMES with 3 clicks (and, therefore, increasing the risk of spillage which happens quite often), the gas gauge needle reads 1 tick under the "F" for full.

So it's really annoying how this is. So if I just let the gas pump click once, then for sure the gas gauge reads one or two ticks under the F.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love to take it to the dealer to have them "fix" it. But I am weary that they will break something else....
