Excellent! Thanks a lot for posting. Very impressive! I actually did not know that the X5 6 and eight cylinder gas and diesel engines were made in Austria. Only the M division engines hail from Munich!

While I was waiting for mine to be delivered, I looked all over and could not find videos on a current production model. (found a few for Mercedes, but nothing for a modern BMW)

Oh, the one on how they get their crappy paint job is interesting too.

To be honest, though, the amount of human labor involved is actually very reassuring.
I'm an Engineer - I LOVE robots, and the high-precision consistency they can give you - but there are limits.

When they say that BMW Manufacturing exports 70% of its product.. Do they mean that 70% of what is produced in Spartanburg is EXPORTED?! It does say Charleston, SC is their primary port..

Correct. The US is only 30% of the world wide X5/X6 market. About 140,000 cars leave the Charleston, SC port every year. More than the BMWs that come in that port.
