The 2012's stock LEDs look brighter than any replacement bulb that I've seen on here.

As long as you have an E70 the tail lights will fit. I swapped them out on my 2010 when I had it.

Does anyone have comparison pictures of HID angel eyes vs. LED angel eyes?

The ones on my 2011 x5 35d look very similar to pictures of those that have LED corona lights. From what I have read, it appears my 2011 (USA) has HID, and not LED. But the HIDs I have look very bright and white..

Corona's are either halogen or led. They started using led's in April I believe.
