Got my 2012, finally
ALmost a month of wait, finally got it. Went to pick it up yesterday, only 2 miles on it. Loved the multicontour and the power.
Crummy cell pics attached, I'll take some more with the coronal on later. Cheers |

Nice! Looking at ordering the same car but in alpine white. How do you like the ride on the sport suspension? I test drove a standard X5 and an X5 M which got me the ride comparison I was looking for. X5M felt more like my M3 prior to coilover mod so would be interested in your thoughts about the sport suspension.
Would be interested in seeing pics of the LED corona as well. Congrats! |

Thanks for the kind words
I can compare to the car I tried - X5 sport - The air suspension (no adaptive standard on 2012) is firmer without being nasty (like my 997). I was cutoff driving back home yesterday and the car handled very well. Another comparison is to my outgoing Cayenne. It seems that the Cayenne is firmer but not more stable. My overall impression is that this suspension is a very sophisticated piece of engineer considering the relatively supple ride (you don't feel every texan bump onthe road like the Cayenne) with very good stability. I only drove for 1 hour yesterday, pretty tired after a looonnngggg discussion with the dealer, so I'll post more as I go. I do not regret this suspension at all compared to the sport model, even more compared to the standard model. Cannot compare to the adaptive drive, never tried that one. I'll take some corona pics during daylight. They are very, very bright and thin. Me liked... But the car essentially is the same as 2011, no reason for anger there. I only got this as a 2012 because they released so early in the year... |

John, read the threads on stone pecking or m-sport package side skirts/fender flares getting destroyed. Not so much on a black car but just in case.
