I went LUX v3 and have been very pleased. It's totally DIY, however, I didn't do it myself (hands were too big)! I've posted pics on this forum if you search for them.

some people have gone w/ LUX.
depends on preferences i guess........i recently posted some pics showing what i believe is the difference between the GP thunder and $100 LEDs. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...er-vs-led.html hope this helps a little. |

I like the LEDs better, $100 is tough to get wife approval though. I changed AE on our 530i for $40.00 and they look great.

Ok thanks, will give it a shot with a $20.00 pair. As long as they are whiter and a bit bighter...

I have run the $100 LED's and the $15 GPThunder 8500k and now have the LUX V3 which rock.
The GPThunders are a nice upgrade for short money, make sure you get 8500k color if you want them whiter/blueish. The $100 LED's don't look any better in my book that the GPThunders, a little whiter, but in direct sunlight, the GPThunders light the outers better - waste of the extra $80 in my book. The Lux V3's are very nice, perfect LED light and light the outer ring very well, they also don't dim when the headlights are on. It was hard to swallow the price for light bulbs, but after trying everything else, they are the hands down winner. The V2 version was the same bulb but required external wiring to hang out of the headlight, so I never went for those, but the V3's are not the best option if you are willing to spend the money! |

PIAA has a new one, the H-505. They are expensive but I wonder if it is worth the money. Has anyone tried these?
