iPhone+ Google + Voicemail....big snafu
Odd thing, it is doing it in the Range Rover as well, but not in our Mercedes. Do Land Rover and BMW still share bluetooth systems? I used to be able to use Google on my iPhone while my phone was paired, but not anymore. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks! |

interesting... I didn't realize this was a problem... happened to me but I just thought I was going crazy and never went back to try to replicate the issue. I was trying to find a bank branch on my iphone and every time I tried to bring up google, I would call myself, exactly as you describe.
I never thought about it again until I saw your post here. FWIW, I have a Dec build 2011 X5. |

This isn't the bluetooth - but a bug on the 'phone. It's telling the car that it needs the bluetooth channel to send audio, so the car obliges by shutting off the radio, activating bluetooth.
Your own number shows as the "handsfree profile" the car's system uses requires a number to be transmitted, so that's obviously the one the phone's developers used. You'll likely find that if you quit the Google app (by double tapping home, pressing and holding google, then pressing the "minus" button in the task bar) sound will be restored as the phone will tell your car it no longer needs the audio lock. |
