SIB for creaking/clicking E70 Driver Seats

Dropped my X5 off at 10:15am, picked it up at 1:30pm

SIB# 52 09 10
E70 Seat Noises

Installed new Blind Rivets Item # 52 10 7 042 164

Installed new Seat buffering material Item# 61 13 6 920 760

Noise is much better now, but still there It is very muffled though. My SA is going to follow up with BMW, and check other SIB/TSB relating to E70 Driver Seat problems.

Just wanted to post all the info I have, for anyone else dealing with this!

Cheers!

Adam

Of course! Pretty bummed though, while the noise is muffled, it still clicks and creaks the same amount. Amazing how, in the grand scheme of things, something so small can be so frickin' annoying. Drives me nuts, and takes driving pleasure away!!

I just got a 2007 used, the same thing was there. A creeking noise was present when adjusting the seat or sitting down sometimes. I took apart the plastic coverings below the seat that cover the motor and track. Found that the hooks that link these items to the mounding bar were not, well, hooked. I doubt this is your issue but just in case. Good luck!

Thanks. I'm assuming that since my seat was taken out and apart yesterday at the dealer, they would have noticed unhooked parts...but you never know...it was at the dealer
