2011 X5 35i: Ticking sound from defrost
In my two month old 2011 X5 35I, I just recently noticed a quiet ticking sound when I turn the defrost on. When I change the air flow to just the upper or lower vents, the ticking sound goes away. Has anyone had this issue and what was done to resolve it? I am somewhat reluctant to take it in to have the service department look at it...they probably have to dismantle the dash to figure it out

Thanks e70...I will leave it for now and see if it gets any worse. Luckily, the ticking occurs only during defrost mode which I would mostly use during winter.

The ticking sound got worse from one winter to another and now i hear it even in summer when is raining and I must use the defroster.
The problem is that I don't want to let the dealer remove the dash because I don't know if they will reinstall it correctly
